Vueling to American flight question

Does anyone have experience with this flight scenario? Wondering if we've set ourselves up for problems. Our return to US flights begin on Vueling - malaga to Barcelona. We have 90 minutes to get to our American flight to the US. On our outbound trip vueling leaving Barcelona to malaga was late and we had to take a shuttle out to the tarmac to get on the plane which took extra time. When I booked through American I didn't realize Vueling had this added complexity. I'm curious to know if folks have been able to successfully make it from vueling to American in 90 minutes (we don't need to go through customs til back in the US and our bags should be checked through in malaga). Thank you.

You will have to go through immigration in Barcelona to get your exit stamp, so that will require time. You will not have to go through security again though. If this is on one ticket your luggage will get checked through, and if you miss the connection American is on the hook of getting you on an alternative flight, and provided food and accommodation in the mean time,

Being bussed to a plane is something that can happen with any airline. It is not an added complexity specific to Vueling.
