We hope to visit Toledo on a day trip using the train from Madrid. I’d like to organize the trip so that my husband who recently had hip surgery will have the easiest time walking in this hilly town. The plan is to take a taxi to the highest point and then see sights going downhill. The sites we want to see are the Cathedral, museum of Santa Cruz, church of Santa Tome and the Monastery. We also hope to have lunch somewhere and would like recommendations near one of the sites. Thank you
Yvonne,

My mom and I enjoyed a couple of lunches at El Treból which is near Plaza de Zocodover, and Santa Cruz Museum.
You can also take one of the many buses back up to Plaza de Zocodover, after visiting the sites downhill from the cathedral.
There’s also a small sightseeing tourist train at the Plaza de Zocodover that you may be interested in taking.
My mom was 88 when we visited Toledo and we just took our time walking mostly downhill and taking the bus back up.
Enjoy your trip!
Most of the main sights are at the top of the hill where it is, fortunately, fairly level.
