Visit Palma de Majorca before tour, or just focus on Barcelona?

We are starting a tour with RS in Barcelona, in mid-April, which spends 2 days in Barcelona. We usually arrive 3-4 days before the tour begins, to get over jet lag. Should we fly to Majorca for a couple of days first, or just concentrate on Barcelona, with one or two day trips from there? Thanks for your suggestions.

Hmm.. I love Mallorca.. but with only a few days.. and in April ( when its not really quite beach weather , but then you may not be interested in beaches, and there is a wonderful cathederal there) I guess I would say stay in Barcelona. . and trust me.. that's a tough call for me to make as I loved Mallorca.. and did not love Barcelona..
Ps we are going to Mallorca ourselves in mid May.. flights are so fast and cheap..

Have you been in BCN before?, are you particularly interested in the city?... if so, you're spending there far too little there. The city has lots to offer and you could fill up everyday for a month without doing the same thing twice -that without adding any day escapade!.

Have an initial look at these websites so you can prepare your own 'bucket list' :)))

And check some of the many "must-see" and other ideas on POST #7 here.

If you then add day escapades, there are a myriad of different places you might like: Girona, Costa Brava, Tarragona, Besalú, Vic, Cervera and many more, depending on your interests. You can explore here: http://www.catalunya.com/ and also http://www.infocatalonia.eu/w/map-of-catalonia/

Yet it all depends on your travel style, some people prefer a rush-rush-the-more-the-better style while others like few-but-intense sort of moving about to better enjoy what they're seeing/visiting.
