Very early check in for Vueling

I am flying Vueling from Barcelona to Venice in November on one of the "upgraded" fares that allows a free checked bag (the Optima fare, if I remember correctly) and booked through Expedia. Today I got an email from Expedia saying that the time of my flight had changed, and that I should double check that my seats are still confirmed on the flight, so I did. In doing so, I was actually able to select seats, check in, and get boarding passes. I do plan to call Vueling later today about this to see what's going on as soon as I get the time to make that call, but wanted to ask if any of you have come across the same thing in the past? It seems very strange!

We have reservations on a Vueling flight from Barcelona to Palermo next year. I recently received the same notification about our flight...just a 15 min. change. But I was able to "check in" and get the boarding passes. We haven't flown Vueling before but this doesn't seem to be a major issue, so I'm just checking the website and/or app periodically to stay on top of it, just as I do for other airlines. Hopefully, it will all be fine.

I was able to check in for our Iberia air flight operated by Air Nostrum and booked through Air Berlin right after purchase months ago. I don''t think thats uncommon for European carriers. I know I've done it before.

The advance check-in and seat assignment are perks of paying for the upgrade. You will still need to give your checked bag to a special Drop-Off desk. Many airlines suggest a minimum time for arriving at the airport but the Vueling site is either mum or obscure on that issue; you might check the airport's own website. Vueling has a page called Manage Your Booking where you should be able to see what's what with your reservation.
