I have 2 nights (Monday, May 7 & Tuesday, May 8) without plans. I am in Seville and check out of the hotel the morning of May 7. I am heading to Granada on Wednesday, May 9. I would like to find out from others which of the 3 places they recommend for a 2 night stay. I read that Vejer de la Frontera is a very pretty coastal town but I can't find out how to get there from Seville (maybe train to Cadiz then a bus but not sure what bus company). I read on this site somewhere that there is transportation between Seville and Ronda but I can't remember what bus line. Maybe someone can tell me. I believe Grazalema is only about 20 miles (26-27 km???) from Ronda so does the bus from Seville go to Grazalema? If I stay in one of these 3 towns then what transportation is available to get to Granada on May 9? A different option might be just to stay 4 nights in Granada but I thought it might be nice to stay somewhere that's not so touristy.
Haven’t been to Vejer in decades, and there is little to occupy one’s time in Grazalema. Ronda is pretty and good for a full day’s visit. I can’t help with public transportation because I always drive.
I think one night in Ronda is good. We were recently there and enjoyed our stay. Be warned though there will be plenty if tourists there! Lots of tour groups. It didnt interfere with our enjoyment. I would add another night to Granada- we loved it. Much to see and do.
I'd go Ronda as well. 27km is 17 miles.
I too always have a car.
Vejer is nice but very small.
And Ronda is a touristy town but oh so charming
