Valencia Subway

I've seen reports of a long distance between the port and center of town. Does anyone know how close the nearest subway station is that is near the cruise ship terminal, and it's name.
Thanks in advance.

https://www.metrovalencia.es/page.php?idioma=_en is the Metro website. I picked up the subway from the Renfe station, so can't help you with the station name for the port. However, the Metro site does have english and the "getting around' tab will help a lot.
Old town will be quite different to the port area. When there, the daily market is a sight (and smell) extravaganza. I recall it closes early (ish), so check the times - it is worth a walk around. Unlike the revamped markets of Madrid or Cordoba, this is more a working market rather than a gourmet food court, but there are things readymade....and a beer booth with a very international selection.
I went to Valencia with little prep other than an apartment address and a short list of things to see. What might be interesting is that Valencia was part of Aragon many centuries ago, and so has closer ties to Barcelona and the local language is more Catalan than Castilian. You will see and hear both.
