Any recommendations for a hotel, central as no car and any other tops re València as not mentioned in Rick Steves 2019 Spain book
You should be able to get it as an ebook chapter from Lonely Planet website.
I stayed at an AirBnB in northern old town. 8th floor, with elevator, great views, but unfortunately, the horrible drains smell that Valencia sometimes gets. Can't recommend it.
People can give more useful hotel suggestions if you provide a nightly budget in euros, the number of people to be in the room and the time of year.
We were content with the Catalonia Excelsior. Good location for the central sights, including the old and new parts, main railway station and also local transport to the seaside, Arts & Sciences park and airport metro link. There are quite a few other hotels in that area too. I don't recall if the Excelsior provides a kettle in rooms so you might want to check or bring your own.
Thank you

Best location, good value. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the main square. We stayed there two years in a row and we'd stay there again in a minute.
Buen viaje!
Thanks for replies re València hotels - we will be there tomorrow - I did find one on Internet Vincci Palace - $113 per night and central so will post how it was.
