Valencia in August

First off, it's hot. But it's not actually that hot, certainly more livable at this moment than Bakersfield, Dallas, Biloxi or Atlanta. And Valencians don't have the phobia about air conditioning that infects most French. Not only is our AirBnB air conditioned, but so are most restaurants and stores. They're not, granted, usually set to Antarctic temperatures as in most of the USA, but it's very comfy pretty much everywhere indoors. Plus the humidity isn't oppressive, and there's almost always a nice breeze.

Just saying: don't discount the idea that coastal Spain might be a better place to spend a couple of summer weeks than you might have thought. It's not flooded with Americans or Brits right now, which many will regard as a positive.

Well, the ancients survived hot weather without modern comforts, and civilizations have prospered.
I frequently travel to hot places during hot times, due to my career work schedule.
I have been to Latin America, Asia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Egypt, and Turkey in July and August many times, and I sweat a lot while walking around, but then I can enjoy a pool, a frosty drink, or an air conditioned hotel room afterwards.
When I traveled as a very young person in the hot weather, I could not afford a room with a pool or air conditioning, so the solution was to stand in the shower for a bit.
I actually enjoy hot temperatures, and rarely hesitate to travel anywhere. After all, Summer weather is beach weather.
When I hear the cicadas in Greece, my heart is happy, and I feel I have come home.

On the other hand, I am married to a Winter sports fanatic, and often accompany him to ski destinations with temperatures down to ten degrees below zero F. Yes, some people eagerly wait for frigid weather so they can hit the snow covered slopes.

The world is a wonderful place to explore!

P.S. Yes, last August I was also in Valencia visiting and touring.
