Planning to travel in Spain with my family ,a group of 3,no kids .My daughter wants the beach ,and a decent weather for about 9 days in December around the 10th til the 20 th.
I
Nerja is a beautiful beach town...but I suspect December is not exactly beach weather.
If we have to go to Canary Island. which islands are the best to visit inDecember and can we go from one island to another by ferry ? Flying from USA , which one of the island best destination.?
The islands are not that close to each other and ferry rides can take a while. The exception is Tenerife and La Gomera, which would be a great combo for 10 days (1 week Tenerife, 3 days La Gomera).
Lanzarote and Fuerteventura could also be combined I guess, but I have never been. I hear they have better beaches, but fewer attractions than Tenerife.
Gran Canaria is also an option, but again, never been - this said, it looks equally "mass touristed" as Tenerife but without as many appealing natural sights.
This being said, if your daughter wants the beach and if you are in the USA, then I am not sure crossing the ocean is necessary! Mexico and the Caribbean have better beaches, especially at that time of the year, and are easier to reach than the Canary Islands.
So if we go to Madrid,Andalusian and Barcelona., which places you suggest to visit?
I noted that in your tours there is nothing on December so we are planning to do it on our own. , do if you can put any suggestions like an itinerary , much appreciated. Thanks
Rick's top sights in many major cities are listed and briefly described on this very website:

Barcelona has a large beach, but I am guessing it's not beach weather, although may be pretty. Perhaps you go between Madrid, Granada, and Malaga or Cadiz.
According to TimeandDate, Cadiz was high 60s and 70 last December: https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/spain/cadiz/historic?month=12&year=2022
I’m gonna second the suggestion to maybe rethink your beach vacation.
With respect, I think you’re bolting two different vacations together and making a Frankenvacation that’s probably gonna be worse than the sum of its parts
I say this because I’ve absolutely been in your shoes
In terms of a Spain itinerary… what things get you excited? Barcelona is a perennial favorite for lots of reasons. Split your time between there and some other city that has stuff you’d like to do/see.
Avoid a lot of hotel changes if this is supposed to be relaxing - like your daughter sounds like she wants
crrubian,
1) I don't recommend planning a "beach" vacation in Spain, especially in December. It will be too chilly for that. Even in southern Spain temps will barely reach the low 60s.

2) Not sure where you live, but if you live in North American, the beaches in Florida, California and the Caribbean are far better than what is in Spain. I have been to Costa del Sol in southern Spain in the Summer and the beaches were nothing to brag about.
3) OK, you want beaches in December, consider Madeira, Portugal or the Canary Islands. Crete in Greece is a great place to visit and see history and about as warm as southern Spain.
@ geovagriffith - No-one brags about the beaches in the Costa del Sol simply because they're not worth bragging about however there are plenty of beaches in Spain (and Europe in general) that are and certainly better than many of the beaches in Florida. Just thinking about the many secluded coves around Mallorca surrounded by pine covered cliffs, white sand and crystal clear water and comparing them to the long, flat stretches of beach fronted by rows of condos, bars, shops and restaurants that I've visited in Florida and I know which beach I'd rather be lounging on.
That being said, no beach in mainland Spain or the Balearics is going to be an option in December no matter how picturesque it might be. I've spent time in Mallorca and the Costa del Sol in December and experienced temperatures in the mid to high teens and often sunny, dry weather. Whilst this is great weather for exploring the local area it's not suited for relaxing on the beach.
I understand but my daughter is not planning to get in the water, she just wanna see one. We have to Carribean and Asia already.. I just wanna see as much as we can while we are there since it’s our first time to be there.Thank you.
If just seeing the beach is the goal, that'll be easy in Barcelona—in the city itself.
Go to Barceloneta Beach in Barcelona, a sand beach, if your daughter’s goal is just to see a beach.
