Valencia Travel Using metro in Valencia (metrovalencia) or other options from Airport

Original question:
I want to take the metro from the airport to a downtown hotel. I've searched online and get lots of info, come conflicting. Most of what I find talks about a tourist card with other things and other rides but I don't need that. I want single tickets. Are there ticket machines at the airport station? Dare I hope it is like London where you can use a credit card and tap in then tap out? I know I need to take the 3 or the 5 line to the Colon station.
Can anyone give me advice?

The Valencia metro is very easy to use. You can buy a single ticket from the machine at the airport. They don’t operate credit card tap on and off.

If you are going to use it more buy a SUMA card with 10 journeys from any ticket machine. It’s very cheap. However, you need to pay more to get back to the airport as it’s in a fare charging zone all by itself. When I was there I had the wrong ticket, as did many other people, but they just allowed you to pay the fare difference at the ticket barrier rather than issuing a fine, which was nice.

Thank you for the reassurance. I've also loaded pidetaxi app, but it seems crazy not to just metro
