US traveler to Spain layover LHR -Covid

I will be traveling to Malaga, Spain in February, 2020, fully vaccinated. My flight is AA booked through British Airways (2nd part of journey), and will have a layover in the UK (LHR).

My questions are:
I will be staying airside LHR, and not leaving the airport security, just a regular layover and change of planes. I've read the UK government website, but still don't completely understand the requirements. Will I just need my CDC vaccine card? Or do I need a covid test before US departure?

For Spain, I do understand I will need to fill out the Health Control Form for Spain. Again, I am vaccinated, do I need a covid test?

PS. I live in Texas and have not yet found out if I can get a QR VACCINE code for my phone.

Another question, not so important, just wondering for my itinerary:
After traveling in Spain, can I fly to Nice, France stay a few days and return to Barcelona, Spain for my flight home with no more than my vaccine card? Do I need a covid test to fly to France? Or to return to Spain?

Thanks for helping me make sense of all this government jargon!

For Heathrow, as of now, things might change by February, you do not need a test. Just fill out the locater form and have your proof if vaccination available.

If you download the Verifly app, it will expedite your check in.

I don't know whether your state government is going down that line so can't answer that bit.

What I can say is that the codes generated by a few other US states have not been readable by European readers - the systems are incompatible. So it might help you in Texas but not in Europe.

As of today no test is needed to enter the UK, you will need to fill out the passenger locator form. Follow the directions in the link for transiting so you don’t have to schedule the day 2 test. Fill out the form within 48 hours of arriving in the UK.

For Spain, no test is required. You will need to fill out the Spain travel Health Form either via the app downloaded to your phone or from the website.

Believe for both the PLF and Spain form you will need to scan your CDC card.

There is a link to Sherpa on British Airways website. The info is kept current and easy to understand. If you still need QR codes in Feb. plan on printing them, so much quicker at the airport to show "paper". On your return, if still needed, the form for the USA must be printed and turned in before boarding, the hotel was more than willing to for me to email them the forms and print them out. If a covid test is still required for entry into the USA book before you leave home.

Couldn't agree more. On my recent trip to Mallorca in October the passenger in front of us at passport control attempted to access his documents on his phone only to find that he couldn't get a signal on his phone. After some time faffing around he was eventually told to step aside in order to keep the queue moving. Despite having the Spanish health app, Verifly, e-mails etc on my phone I also printed out the required documentation just in case. This proved handy when we reached the vaccination check and I was asked to provide proof of one of my son's Covid test, at this point I also had no signal on my phone and we would have been stuck if I hadn't been able to provide a paper copy.

Thank you all.
I'm still wondering if I can fly into France and return to Spain without too many covid problems, testing, documents, etc.
Anyone information will be most helpful!
