Upcoming trip to Spain postponed due to medical emergency....when should we go!?

We were traveling to Spain (Madrid, Seville) and Portugal (Porto, Lisbon) next week. Unfortunately, we must postpone our trip for a few weeks. When should we attempt to reschedule our trip. Late October, Thanksgiving week and beyond or in December (the week before Christmas and Christmas week)? I think we have decided to travel in Spain only and visit Portugal another time. This is our first time to both countries.

Thanks for your help!

I’d go any chance I could. October would be my choice only because it will be warmer than November or later and it will stay lighter a little longer. However, over Christmas you’d get to see decorations throughout the city.

I visited Madrid early December, pre-Covid.

One of the surprises for me were the wonderful historical nativity scene displays - Belénes. If you are interested in that or, as noted above. Christmas displays and markets. I would vote late November. I don’t know store and venue closings for Christmas season itself, but would research that for Madrid and Sevilla before choosing Christmas week.

I can’t find exact dates with a quick search, but here is some info on Belénes:

Weather when we were there was preferable to Chicago’s for the same early December period!
