We use Uber in the U.S.
Is there anything we should know about the service in Barcelona (and other cities in Europe)? If you use it what has your experience been like?

Yep, Uber is not legal here... it has to do with the unfair competition to taxis, the lack of license of the drivers offering their services thru Uber to carry passengers and of an insurance for such activity. Same goes on in most other major cities in Europe -and the US one must say, see NY or LA for example. In truth it's not "illegal" per se, but I presume it'll soon be in its current form, but authorities are very harsh on several of the aspects (ie. lack of the above mentioned license or the insurance)
