Type of transport from Nerja to Seville via Ronda (1 night) and Arcos (1 night)?

I am having a problem obtaining a rental car to get from Nerja to Seville (via Ronda and Arcos) in late October and am now considering bussing it all the way. Nerja to Ronda (change buses in Malaga) and Arcos to Seville (change buses in Jerez) appear to be very doable but I am not seeing anything RE bus (or other transport) between Ronda and Arcos. Any insight?

I would never talk someone "into" renting a car. But I would point out that if you are staying more than one day in Ronda, etc., there are lot of pretty things to be visited around those cities, if you choose to get a car. Even though we didn't have time to visit multiple white towns, a detour just to view Zahara (or was it Grazalema?) from the distance was beautiful.

I remember that Arcos, in particular, has some very narrow archways around the town, so I would rent the smallest car you can drive, if necessary with a standard transmission. We had to pay for hotel parking in Ronda. Although the roads were wider, driving inside Seville and Jerez certainly was annoying, especially before GPS.

Without appearing to recommend specific excursions, I would suggest that you prepare a list of interests before making a final decision: Pileta cave, Carmona, Italica, Jerez riding school exhibition, the monastery on the highway in Granada, etc.

Ronda to Arcos probably includes an intermediate stop or two and connections. Every bus station I visited in Spain had an information desk with an English speaker. They can help you sort out the options, connections and purchase your tickets.

I'm doing a similar trip in September - picking up a car in Granada then driving to Nerja, Ronda and ending up in Sevilla dropping off the car there. Not sure where you are before Nerja but Granada isn't that far. We booked with Auto Europe and got a good deal.
