Two more questions: Are there Covid protocols? And is Apple Pay the way to go?

I live in NYC so I still pop a mask on in grocery stores or crowded subway cars. I do it more as a courtesy but also, I am so used to not getting sick... it's kind of nice. But are there Covid protocols in place of any kind? Museums. Public transport?
How are the Covid numbers?

Secondly, is apple pay vs. Debit or Credit cards the way to go?

For Europe in general, not specifically Spain, I have ApplePay plus the physical debit and credit cards. I’m trying to use ApplePay everywhere this trip. Last night here in Paris the restaurant took ApplePay but the terminal kept rejecting the transaction. It took the same tap and pay physical card as in my Apple Wallet.

I was able to ApplyPay my lowest transaction ever yesterday … .70 Euro cents for the toilettes in the Amsterdam train station. Previous all time low was 3E gelato in Italy last fall.

No idea about Covid numbers in Spain. In general I have been the only one masked on my Delta flight to Amsterdam, in Amsterdam, on the train to Paris and in Paris. The taxi driver asked me about the mask yesterday. I just said “I am old”.

Have an awesome trip!

Very low figures, 94% of population at least double vaccined, masks are only compulsory in health centers like hospitals, primary care attention centers, dentists and pharmacies.

Hi. We just returned from a month in Spain. Although a lot of websites still had information on COVID restrictions the only place that we were asked to wear a mask was when we went to a pharmacy to look for something.
On our whole trip, including the flights I really didn't even hear anyone coughing or looking sick. Neither of us- my husband and I got sick at any time during or after the trip.

Not sure about Apple Pay but all the places that we went to accepted credit cards and cash. I assume that this would also have been accepted. We did rent a car and ran into toll stations that would only accept tap credit cards.

We are just back from 60 days in Spain and on every form of public transportation there was someone coughing and sounding sick. We both caught head colds that dampened our pace for a few days each - but not COVID.

As others have said the only place you must wear a mask is in a pharmacy and other medical settings. Some of our taxi and bus drivers wore masks and on metros we saw some people in masks.
