Does anyone know if the festival will be held this year? I can’t find anything on the web; another consequence of Covid perhaps.

From the tourism Cáceres website, it will be held 30 April, but gives little other information. On the Trujillo tourism page it simple says the first week in May. Sounds like a fun event.
I did find an old email link, so maybe send an email to it. Maybe it’s still good.
