Mar 20-23 Barcelona
Mar 23-25 Granada
Mar 25-28 Sevilla

Easter is a peak time in Sevilla and hotel rates are sky high.
Fly with Vueling from Barcelona to Granada.
Book Alhambra tickets as a priority.

There are daily and/or nightly processions in Seville and Malaga from Palm Sunday (20th) through Good Friday (25th). There's little happening on the 26th. Different happenings in different cities on Easter Sunday (27th). There is a very special procession in Granada on the 27th, so hotel rates for Sat. nite are very high. In Seville and Malaga, hotel rates are high season, but not "sky high." This close to the dates, many places are nearly fully booked, so you should check availability before making any travel commitments (train/plane tickets). Seville will be very crowded that week, so sights will be very crowded and much of the center will be closed to all motor traffic. It's a very special time to be there, if you want to experience it. Otherwise, you should start your trip with time in Seville before Palm Sunday. This site explains more about Semana Santa.

Do you have tickets yet? It's best to fly open-jaw, start in Madrid, end in Barcelona, or reverse. You can save a lot by buying train tickets now at promo rates. The fastest way to get between Barcelona and Granada is to fly. For the rest, the train is best, though possibly the bus between Seville and Granada.

I do not have tickets yet and trying to solidify that today.
what is open-jaw?

Open Jaw is flying into one city, and then home from another city. It's often the same price as round trip, and then you avoid having to make your way back to your starting point.

In most search engines, when you are looking for flights, choose "Multi-City", then you would, for example put

SFO-Madrid on March 18
and then
Barcelona-SFO on March 27 (or whatever your dates/places are)

$300 to $400 per night for a 3 star hotel in Seville on 24/25 March, is considerably more than you would normally pay. If you wish to avoid crowds and costs then perhaps this order...
Mar 17-20 Madrid
Mar 20-23 Sevilla
Mar 23-25 Granada
Mar 25-28 Barcelona

thank for all the great input.
we've decided to just do barcelona, madrid and granada. seville would be to expensive for such a short time. i have watched rick steve's seville show and it is amazing but we will use the time for barcelona and madrid.
our daughter is studying this semester in granada. i will look into her flying to barcelona to meet us and then we will end in granada.
