Traveling on Iberia to Spain

Traveling from US to Spain with a connection in Miami. My Iberia reservation has a “pop-up” which reads “I am traveling in transit in the US. My final destination is another country” with a box to check if applicable.

Can anyone explain what this means?

Thanks

This box is probably aimed at itineraries that go between 2 non-US countries but transit through the US. Like, I don't know, Madrid to Cancun via Miami.
It's an important consideration for us non-US passport holders, because it means we need the relevant visa waiver or visa depending on our nationality.
But since I assume you have US residency status, it does not matter for you!

Since you are departing from a US city you are not traveling in transit in the US. Don't check it.
