Is it necessary to purchase bus tickets ahead of time for traveling between Gibraltar and Tarifa and then from Tarifa to Granada?
I would like to have some flexibility in our day but if they sell out quickly then I will purchase online ahead of time. Does any one have any suggestions for the best way to travel from Tarifa to Granada by bus/train? Is it best to go to Malaga and then to Granada or to Algeceiras and to Granada from there? Thanks for any suggestions!

Gibraltar/Tarifa tends to be a busy route in tourist season and is only served by buses - so for that portion of the trip, purchasing tickets in advance would be wise.
Tarifa/Granada can be done by bus and takes about 5 hours - again, busy season it would be wise to book in advance
Algeceiras/Granada can be done by train and takes 4 hours 15 mins (via Malaga).
Algeceiras/Granada can also be done by bus, fastest route is 3 hours 30 min (Avanza Grupo buses)

Thank you for this information! One additional question. Do you know how timely the buses are? Do they often run late and therefore I should leave substantial time between transfers?
