Traveling from Toledo to Segovia by train - Transferring in Madrid - Tickets? Security?

We are planning on traveling from Toledo to Segovia in mid July. We know we will have to transfer trains at Madrid Atocha. Several questions:
1) Is it possible to book both legs of the trip on one ticket?
2) Will we have to go back through security again at Madrid Atocha - after we exit the Toledo train and before we board the Segovia train?
3) Would it be possible to switch trains in Atocha in 15 minutes?
4) Since we are planning this trip on a Saturday, there are limited train options early in the morning. How are the bus options? We'd like to get to Segovia as early as possible that day.

Thanks!

The majority of trains between Madrid and Segovia depart from Chamartin station, not Puerta de Atocha station, which is where your Toledo to Madrid train will leave you . This will require you to travel by commuter train to the other station. I agree that the bus may be your best bet for travelling between Toledo and Segovia.

Trains from Atocha use two different levels. If your train from Toledo is arriving at one level and your train to Segovia is leaving from the other, you do not have to go through security again. Instead, ask for the elevator that connects the two secured waiting areas (it's outside, near the high numbered tracks). If the trains arrive and depart from the same level, of course, you don't leave the waiting area - just check the departure monitors for your track.

Since you don't have to go through security again (or, more important, find your way in that very confusing station), you can do a 15 minute transfer.

If your train to Segovia is leaving from Chamartin, you have to allow much more time.
