Travelers Tip, Córdoba Flower Festivals of Patios

Hi friends,
I'm here in Córdoba. We arrived late Minday afternoon, explored the Mezquita from 5-6:30--- it was practically empty, and you're able to great pictures without the crowds.
We did the hop on hop off bus, saw a lot!!!
Walked the old roman bridge for paseo (around 8pm), then had a great dinner at "----- Olivio" (can't remember first word), one avenue in from bridge.

Thinking about renting our car, and heading to Ronda; I kinda felt like I was missing out on something in Córdoba, woke up early this morning (4:30-jet lag!!!), and started googling. Stumbled across this great website:
https://shershegoes.com/cordoba-patio-festival/

I had no idea there was this huge Flower Festival going on here right now!
Apparently, in May, the locals decorate their interior courtyard patios of their homes for a huge contest, and visitors are welcome to come in and view. It's an old Moorish custom, still practiced, very authentic, and now sponsored by tourism dep't
I'm getting ready to head out for the day and check it out, But I feel like I found a hidden gem, & wanted to quickly share for any of you here now, planning your trip, and those of you who help others with their planning.

Happy Travels

I won't be in Cordoba until November, but this patio festival sounds like so much fun! I'm wondering if there exists some kind of list of patios associated with homes or businesses that might not mind people sticking their heads in for a look. I know Cordoba is well known for the beautiful patios.

We are going to Cordoba tomorrow for the patio featival. When we get off the train, where should we head to? Take a taxi there? Are maps of the patios available? Any additional info is appreciated. We cant wait to arrive in Cordoba. Thanks.

Hey! Thanks so much - so glad you found my Spain articles useful.

I really liked the Patio festival. It was so pretty and felt like a hidden gem to experience with the locals.

Its my understanding the homes/patios change each year so there isn’t a public list of homes. Plus it’s peoples’ houses so other than the festival, its difficult to just show up outside May for a peek. But, there is a patio museum that is really pretty and gives you a good idea of what the festival is like!
