Travel while on our trip

Hello all,

We are traveling from March 27-April 4. Flying into Malaga, 2 days, then Cordoba 2 days, Granada 2 days, back to Malaga for a day, and then flying out. Our first trip to Spain, and our first European adventure. I know we are hurrying around some fantastic places, but we wanted to see as much as we could on limited time. (My first draft itinerary also included Gibraltar, Sevilla, and Morocco... Ha!)

My biggest concern is getting from city to city. No rental car. I understand that the train and bus system is quite good. Currently, my plan is to "wing it" until we get there. That isn't sitting too well with me. My questions are these:

  1. Malaga to Cordoba best way to travel, train or bus?
  2. Cordoba to Granada best way to travel, train or bus?
  3. Granada to Malaga best way to travel, train or bus?
  4. Book once we get there, or book in advance.

Thanks so much,

Jamie

  1. You can take a direct 1h train from Malaga to Cordoba.
  2. Same here, you can take a direct train from Cordoba to Granada (1h 45m).
  3. Granada to Malaga takes 1h 30m, but it requires a transfer.
  4. Book before you go. Check seat61 Spain to learn what sight to purchase your ticket and some allow you to book three months out.

Thanks MaryPat. I booked tonight. Got our trains booked for the first 2 legs, and then we are taking the bus from Granada to Malaga.
