Travel to Spain from Italy and Itinerary suggestions please

Hello, am hoping someone can help me or come up with any alternatives or confirm what I have already worked out:
We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 10. We are flying into Venice from Australia in early June. We are spending 3 weeks seeing Venice, Florence, Rome and then the Amalfi Coast. From the Amalfi Coast we are needing to make our way to Spain. We are thinking of heading towards the south coast of Spain - Andalucia region for a bit of relaxing after a hectic pace in Italy and dragging the children around sightseeing. I am trying to work out the best place to fly into to achieve the following. We would like to visit Seville for 4 nights with a side trip to Cordoba and also a stay in Cadiz/Conil for 5 nights. From Cadiz we will do a couple of day trips. Suggestions welcome. After 12 days in Spain we will then be going to the south of Portugal. The easiest way I see of doing this is bus from Seville to Faro where we will pick up a hire car.
After researching I think my easiest option would be to fly from Naples to Malaga (which isn't a direct flight). We could then stay there a night and hire a car and make our way towards Cadiz and then on to Seville. Alternatively we could add in a few nights and fly direct from Naples to either Madrid or Barcelona and stay in either for a couple of nights then train to Seville, Cadiz, back track to Seville for the bus to Faro. I am not overly enthused about Madrid or Barcelona as feel my children will need a bit of a break from more hectic sightseeing.
Suggestions welcome on this itinerary please. Am I missing anything on the flights from Naples to Spain which could cut down on travel time? Thanking you.

With 12 nights, maybe something like this ...

Fly in to Malaga (1N)
Pick up hire car in Malaga
Drive to Ronda (2N) - day trip to Grazalema and Zahara
Drive via Arcos de la Frontera to Conil (4N)
Drive to Jerez (2N) - day trip to Cadiz
Return hire car in Jerez
Train to Sevilla (3N)

If you go to the AC from Florence and then to Rome, you'd have more flight options. You do know that southern Spain will be very hot, right? July-August are low season in Andalucia. I don't know what your plan is from the Algarve, but you might do better to rent a car in Spain and do a loop, returning it in Spain and then flying on to . . . . that would also give you more options for your time in Andalucia with only one car rental.

Barcelona is a good choice with kids because of the beaches and parks. From there train to Cordoba/Sevilla.
