Travel Sevilla to Cordoba then Madrid

Is it feasible to leave Sevilla in the early morning, travel to Cordoba via train and spend most of the day, then train to Madrid? I would like to stay near or at the Madrid airport for flight back to the U.S the next day. Any hotel suggestions? Any restaurant suggestions? Is there anywhere to store luggage while in Cordoba.

Yes, it's feasible assuming you can find luggage storage. I'm sure there is someplace for that in Cordoba but I don't know where you would store your luggage in Cordoba. I was in Seville in November and took the train to Cordoba for the day.The trip took about an hour. In Cordoba, we had an excellent lunch at Casa Rubio. We returned to Seville but there are trains heading from Cordoba to Madrid so at the end of your day, you could just take the train to Madrid. At Atocha station in Madrid, there is a train to the airport.

It is widely reported that there are no luggage lockers at the Cordoba train station, but they are available at the bus station very nearby. The issue is that you might arrive after others have rented all the lockers. though the risk is less if you leave Seville early. You need to use Google ("luggage storage Cordoba" should do it) to find a few storage alternatives just in case.

I don't know whether the bus-station lockers take credit cards, currency or coins. Be prepared for any of those.

Thank your for your reply and for your good advice. I checked Google and there are a number of places listed for luggage storage.

We stayed at the Hilton near the Madrid airport for one night before our flight home. We weren’t looking for the cheapest (needed lodging that would work for us and a teenager), and by that point in our trip I knew we would be tired and paying more for tried and true brand felt worth it.

Thanks for taking time to reply. The Hilton sounds like a good option. One more question - are there any number of restaurants nearby? I mean, aside from eating inside the Hilton.

What time is your flight? We typically stay in the city center, the journey is about 30-45 minutes to the airport by Metro or bus, probably faster in a taxi, the taxi also would take you right to the departure area, for the metro, you need to plan in some walking time.

Of course, years ago, I figured out to plan a return no earlier than mid-morning, even if it costs a little more, but you could easily make a 9:00 flight.
