Travel Insurance for Spain

I'm a single traveler on a RS Tour the end of this month and wanted to know if I should get Travel Insurance for the trip?
Which company should I choose and which plan? Thanks

Ever since Covid and now that my parents are in their late 80s I always buy travel insurance. I purchase through American Express travel. I’ve had to use my insurance once and it was easy to file a claim. Whether or not it’s worth buying travel insurance depends on the terms of your tour and other reservations - such as their cancellation policy etc. besides pricing, reading reviews of their claims process is essential since that’s when the value of insurance is most important -

What would you want insurance to cover? Medical emergency, evacuation, trip interruption or delay, ...?

If you didn't purchase medical insurance, does your regular health insurance cover international travel or do you have the resources to pay out of pocket for a medical emergency?
Or did you pay for your trip with a credit card that offers some coverage?

Policies for purchase in the US vary by state of residence. Use a platform like Insure My Trip or Squaremouth to compare policies available in your state. They can answer specific questions you may have.

I never travel without insurance. I have an annual policy that covers the whole family and it really is quite reasonably priced although to include travel in the US the price rises quite considerably however one look at the cost of my hospital admission in California several years ago explains why.

I can't offer any advice on which companies to use as I only use UK based ones.
