Hi Folks...would you recommend the train or bus from Seville to Benalmadena (recognize that may have to go to Malaga and make way from there)? Bus seems cheaper but perhaps not the best experience? Also, if you could recommend sites for booking bus, it'd be greatly appreciated (have seen a lot for train).
There are a few daily, direct trains between Seville and Malaga, so that's easy. In Malaga, you will have to switch to bus along the coast. "Everybody" does it and the buses I've seen are all modern and comfortable. Try https://www.busbud.com/en/bus-malaga-benalmadena/r/eysbgk-eys8pv and http://www.andalucia.com/benalmadena/bus-services.htm.
I have taken the bus to Torremolinos from Seville, and it was great. Go for it!

Buses in Spain are not like those in the US - they're much nicer. Spain's train network is not as dense as many other European countries, and the high speed train network is skeletal, so buses fill in the gaps, and everyone takes them - not just the "wrong element" we associate with bus travel in the US.
There are many bus companies; some like Alsa are national, while others are regional. A good way to start finding them is a trick I learned on this Forum. Go to Rome2Rio https://www.rome2rio.com/ and put in your origin and destination. See what bus companies turn up for that route. Then, go directly to the bus company websites for accurate information (you may need Google Translate). Never rely on Rome2Rio as the last word - but it's a good start.
