Travel from Sevilla Spain to Lisbon

Thanks in advance for everyone's input!

We are traveling to Lisbon from Sevilla, and it looks like the choices are bus and Air. Bus is 8 hours, but includes trip through southern Portugal and is 126 euros. Plane is 646 euros, cheapest, 2 hours plus an hour on each side for security. We're leaning toward the bus, as site-seeing opportunities ..

Any opinions?? Is the bus comfy? can you get off for a bit on stops? Are they site-seeing opportunities?

Finally is it necessary to book in advance?

thanks for any ideas!

Maia, where are you getting your air fare information from, and the figures you quote are for how many people? On the TAP web site, I see one-way, non-stop, 70-minute flights from US $82 per person.

I have also seen what seems to be high expense for the flight. It may be $88 for 6 months out, but if you look at the next few months, it is very high for a 1 hour flight, I think. This is at the flytap website, and skyscanner is very close. Looks like they are in cahoots! The bus may be the better option, although the times seem limited.

When we have difficulty getting from point A to point B, we try the site GoOpti. We used it to get from Croatia to Venice because public transportation was very complicated. It's worth a try.
