Why can you "only travel from madrid to san sebastian by prop plane"?
Why can't you go by train?

Propeller planes are fine. The only issue I have with them is that the noise they make is harder on my ears than jet noise. But, the flights are short, so it's not such a problem.

And yes, if you don't want to fly in a propeller plane, you can always take a train - your choice.

If you're leaving from downtown Madrid, consider using the train. It takes only about 30 minutes longer than going out to the airport, going through security, flying to San Seb and then getting to town from the airport. Not only is the train less expensive, it's a lot less stressful and a lot more comfortable. You also get to see the beautiful countryside.
