Are there regular trains to Ferrol and is it easy to get to train station from downtown Madrid? Are there places to stay that are close to train station?

There are trains from Madrid Chamartin station to Ferrol; the trip takes about 5-6 hours. Several trains a day.
There are hotels near Ferrol station.

From the airport take the metro to the Chamartin train station. I have stayed at the “Hotel Chamartín The One” which is literally out the door from the Chamartin train station while enroute to Santander last year and this year will be taking the train or staying there enroute to Ferrol to start my Camino Ingles. Really nice rooms and very convenient if you arrive late from the airport. You may want to check both booking.com and expedia.com for the best price. This property is quite popular and often is sold out early.
