travel from Granada to Ronda, then another day travel to Seville.

I am trying to figure out the best way to travel to Ronda from Granada-thought train, but having hard time finding the actual times. It looks like I have to transfer which is fine but where and what line to take next? Then a 2 days later we are going from Ronda to Seville-thought that would be simple -we are hoping to go early morning, but does not show a train and can not figure out the bus and most importantly the actual times of departures. Trying to plan itinerary for these cities. Would we be better off renting a car for granada to Ronda and then on to Sevilla and leaving car there? We are looking to take an evening train to Ronda from Granada on Sept 15 and then take some form of transportation to Seville in morning of September 17th. Help would be greatly appreciated

You're probably too early to book tickets.

Try searching on Trainline (https://www.thetrainline.com/en-us) for closer dates. It shows times, fares, and connections.

Looks like on both journeys you have to change at Antequera-Santa Ana.

You need to look at bus timetables rather than train. I would not rent a car unless you want to see the mountains and the villages in between the towns. J

Joanne- I have struggled finding bus schedules . Did find the Damas site but not helpful -no matter what date I put in I could not get info. It didn't help that is was mostly in spainish. Any advice would be great on how to find the correct bus line and schedule. Thanks

First off, when you access the Damas site Damas

Just to the right of "Check Schedules", you'll see Espanol with a downarrow
to the right of it. Click on the arrow and you will get a prompt to change to English.

I don't know how experienced you are in navigating foreign websites, but most of them
have a way to change to English. You may have to look to find it. Or use Google Translate.

When I did this trip 18 months ago (in the reverse direction), I did:

  • Damas bus from Sevilla Plaza de Armas (this is the bus station) to Ronda
  • Damas bus Ronda to Malaga
  • Alsa bus Malaga to Granada Station (note Granada Station is a bit away from the main city area and you may need to taxi or take the public bus after arrival).

The connection between two different bus lines will probably require a bit of schedule
padding to insure you can make it, but the connection is in the same station so easy.

As previously noted, the train has connections and so does the bus. Bus travel is comfortable,
safe, and economical in Spain. I would definitely consider it. And you're too early to book tickets.

There’s no direct train from Granada to Ronda. You’ll likely transfer at Antequera-Santa Ana. RENFE’s site can be tricky; try searching each leg separately. For Ronda to Seville, there’s usually a morning train and some buses too — check Damas or Avanza. Renting a car gives way more flexibility.
