We are traveling from Barcelona to Bayonne France in September to join a Rick Steves Tour. Train takes us to San Sebastián with only an hour to purchase tickets and find the bus station to Bayonne. Anyone taken this route or should we consider flying in to Biarritz?

Flying sounds easier. Biarritz isn't far from Bayonne. Are you taking the Basque tour? I was on that two years ago and loved it. The beach town, St Jean de Luz, was a place I want to return to. It was a stop on our tour---we stopped for lunch. Try to see the Martin Sheen movie, The Way. That will introduce you to the part of the tour in the Pyrenees.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, we are joining a R/S Basque tour after a week in Barcelona - our 4th R/S tour. Then on to Madrid by train.
