Are there any restrictions for a day trip coming in via land (car) to Gibraltar from Seville?
It is a big rock.
Long day trip.
Seriously, better things to do unless you feel you have done them all.
Gib is a fantastic place for a day visit and well worth going if you're anywhere nearby. However, I wouldn't drive across since parking in the colony can be difficult. It is better to park over the border in La Linea (Spain), and then walk across.
Prior to COVID there were no restrictions and it was easy. I have no idea about now.

Thank you for this tip!
There are often long queues to get across the border. Check your car insurance would cover a visit.
There are 1,000 better ways to spend your time IMO.
We have been to Gibraltar. I agree with the suggestion to park near the border crossing and walk across. It is worth a day trip if you are near it. Some interesting sites if you are interested in the history of the area.
Appreciate all the input...thank you!
I wouldn't bother travelling all the way from Seville just to visit Gibraltar. Whilst the rock is interesting from a military viewpoint there's not much more of interest. I find it an odd place, desperately clinging onto romanticised views of the British Empire and there's not really a lot going for it.
If you do decide to make the trip, as others have recommended, don't drive across the border as it will take ages, park on the Spanish side instead however be mindful that it's a very deprived area with a high crime rate so choose your parking place wisely.
Thanks! We're still on the fence if we can even visit Spain by end of Nov-1st week of Dec.
