Travel Between Benalmadena Spain and Albufeira Portugal

Hey there travellers will be in Benalmadena Spain for a few weeks before moving onto Albufeira Portugal. Looking for advice / suggestions on the best way to travel between the 2 cities without a car.

Travel between Spain and Portugal, especially without a car, can be quite convoluted. From how I see it, you have two options:

  1. Train from Benalmádena to Málaga - Bus from Málaga to Sevilla - Bus from Sevilla to Faro - Train from Faro to Albufeira (total travel time about 7 hrs)

  2. Train from Benalmádena to Málaga - Fly from Málaga to Faro - Train from Faro to Albufeira (total travel time 6 hrs)

Personally, I would try to find an alternative location in Spain and leave Portugal for another time.
