I am a single, booked on the Spain in 14 Days Tour beginning in Barcelona on October 20.
Is anyone travelling on American flight #40 from Chicago scheduled to arrive in Barcelona at 1:30 PM? If so, I would love to share transportation to our hotel with you.
Cathy
Cathy, that question will most likely go unanswered... Barcelona is a big city so unless you say where your destination is...
We do need to know the name of the hotel. If no tour member on that particular flight responds to your question, we can at least advise you of good options for transfer from the airport to your exact location. For example, if your hotel is near Plaça Catalunya, the airport bus works just fine.
I took that exact flight a few weeks back. I think public transport would be much cheaper than splitting a cab fare. You can easily take the metro (or bus) into Barcelona. Your hotel should be able to tell you what the nearest stop is and which line(s) to take. Depending on the distance from your hotel, you can then walk or get a cab. Public transportation is relatively cheap and the buses and trains arrive/depart with good frequency. You can buy a ticket or a multi-trip pass for the metro/buses at a kiosk at the airport. I used buses or the metro for all my travel while I was there.
I was hoping to meet someone from my tour coming in on the same flight. The hotel is Catalonie Portal de l'Angel, but I think there are directions from Rick Steves about how to get there.
