I am staying in Barcelona and have a flight to Germany leaving from Girona-Costa Brava Airport at 8:15am on a Monday. I do not want to spend the money for a cab, but am finding that trains are not running between 12am and 5am, which does not give me enough time to make my flight. I want to be at the airport at least two hours before departure. What should I do?
I've never used the Girona airport but have been to Girona twice.
I'd plan to spend the last night in Girona or near the airport. Girona is an often-recommended destination on this forum. It has a lovely, walled historic area with several worthwhile sights. The airport is less than 10 miles from the farthest part of the Old Town. I don't know what a taxi would cost you from that area. Girona is, in general, not an especially cheap citiy.
Alternative, Google Maps shows a hotel on the airport grounds and two not far away. I know nothing about their cost or quality, but you can probably find reviews on booking.com. I've found those reviews generally quite accurate; you can't leave a review there unless you've actually stayed at the property.
In Barcelona main Bus station “Estacio del Nord” there is direct bus ( 75 min) to girona airport.
Time schedule of the busses there is coordinated by RyanAir flight mostly and there are a lots of departures on Monday.
The name of bus company is Sagales and is departing from platform 28 and 29
