Transportation between BCN and Sant Pol de Mar, Barcelona

Hi all - We’re looking for the best way to get from the Barcelona airport (BCN) to Sant Pol de Mar and back again a week later. We’d rather not rent a car. Is Uber a good option and reliable there? If not, I guess taxi would work. Never been there, so I’m unsure of the range of options.

Thanks in advance!

You could get there by train. R2 to Sants or le Clot, then change to the R1 to Sant Pol de Mar.

Thanks for the quick reply, Sam.
I’m not at all familiar with the train system in Barcelona. You mention the R1 and the R2. Are those part of the greater Barcelona “subway” system? Or are they part of the national system? Also, do you just pay the fare at a fare machine in the station, or must you purchase tickets ahead of time? Again, thanks in advance for helping!

They are part of the Barcelona suburban rail network, like the Paris RER or German S-Bahn system. The R1 Nord starts at Barcelona airport and goes underground through the center of Barcelona to Massanes. It intersects the R2 line at two stations. Sants, which is the main Barcelona station for high speed trains to the rest of Spain and France, and El Clot, which is a suburban station on the east side of Barcelona. The R2 runs from northwest Barcelona through the center of town and then along the coast, also to Massanes, passing through Sant Pol de Mar along the way.
