Arriving by cruise ship in Barcelona. Will need pick up and transport to our hotel. Anyone have a suggestion on reliable and reasonable pick up service and how to contact? Don't want to deal with public transportation. Thanks.
What's wrong with a taxi?
There will be taxis at the port - it is a very short trip from the port to the center. If you would be more comfortable you can have your hotel arrange for a car to meet you at the port. A taxi will run appx 15 to 20 Euros to La Rambla IIRC.
Las Ramblas are extremely close to the port, so you could easily walk there, only takes 5 minutes to get there. Depending on where your hotel is located (Passeig de Gracía, etc), you could even walk to the hotel. Barcelona is pretty pedestrian friendly.
You didn't say where your hotel is, but there's no way Las Ramblas is five minutes from the cruise docks.
It's a good mile from the northernmost portion of the cruise pier to the Columbus statue at the bottom of the Ramblas. Move back to the rear/south of the docking area and having to go as far up the Ramblas as the market makes it close to three miles, maybe more.
It is about 4 km from cruise port to La Rambla near Place Catalunya.
Thank you for the replies. Checking via website it looks like my hotel is about 7km from the Port. Will probably get a taxi.
Most hotels will send a car for you, stand with a placard with your name written on it, and help with your baggage. We are paying 30 euros for 2 people, 4 pieces of luggage to get from the port to the El Born neighborhood. We've both had recent surgeries so the extra money is worth the extra help in this case.
