So, which will be the direct train to Cote d'Azur coming from Barcelona I will stay in the easiest place to get to from Barcelona...then I will explore the other places from there

ANTIVES

When are you traveling? There is at least one Spanish train per day that travels from Barcelona Sants to Marseille making only eight stops with no need for a connection. I have no idea if there is anything really easier than that other than maybe flying nonstop to Nice. You can see all the trains and schedules at bahn.de but note that you will need to go elsewhere to buy tickets for trains run by the Spanish or French authorities.
