Train vs. plane from Barcelona to San Sebastian experiences

Trying to decide whether to take the 5+ hour train or 1+ hour flight from Barcelona to San Sebastian area. Any advice?

I would consider the train to be most comfortable and convenient (downtown to downtown), if you can work with either the 7:30 or 15:30 departure time. It may not be cheaper and may not have any particularly special scenery. But buses to and from both airports are an extra hassle and expense. Book train tickets ahead for the best price; see www.renfe.es and click on "Welcome" in English, and plan to pay with PayPal, since it can be tricky with US credit cards; or see www.petrabax.com.
