Train ticket for a day trip to Cordoba & Toledo.

We are starting to purchase our train tickets and museum tickets for our November trip!!! So excited for this honeymoon!
My question is do we need to purchase our ticket for our day trip (round trip) from Seville to Cordoba now or is that something that can be done that morning? Also the same but relating to a day trip from Madrid to Toledo.

Thank you

Those trips don't offer much, if any discount for advance purchase. And in November there will be no issue with trains selling out. So buying that day or a day in advance will work just fine. Lines can be long at Atocha Station so be prepared to show up early or buy the tickets a day or so in advance.

Dont need to buy in advance , buy the same day you travel at the train station, will leave you with more flexibility

Cordoba is best by fast train. I purchased tickets 60 days in advance and the discount was pretty steep, at least check out the price difference. If it isn't much, flexibility is worth something.

For Madrid to Toledo a bus works just as well, maybe better depending on how close to Attocha train station you are staying, and is dirt cheap. Check that out as an option, it's not a long trip and the buses are comfortable (the same kind of charters the tours use). You never need to purchase bus tickets in advance but I usually buy them the day before just so I can plan my day and don't have to worry about standing in line when I get to the station.

I didn't think I needed to buy a ticket in advance for my trip from Toledo to Madrid on a Friday afternoon in February. When I got to the station around 3.00, the next train was sold out and I had wait over and hour for the following one. If you buy the return in the morning, you shouldn't have a problem. Just don't wait till the end of the day.

You can purchase on line in advance if you know your travel plans will not change. If you purchase in person at the station, when you enter the ticket room to purchase, get a number, just like in the ice cream stores here at home, and wait for your number to be called. I suggest that you have your ticket request information written down so there is no confusion. Purchase the tickets with euros or with a credit card. Should not be a problem, but sometimes the lines can be slow. Madrid to Cordoba via AVE train.. fast and efficient. There is a snack car on the line as well. Look for it as you board. AVE Madrid to Toledo, non stop 1/2 hour. Both trips, the tickets will have the car number and the seat number designated on the ticket. Enjoy!!!
