Has train service between Granada and Seville been restored?
The Renfe website does not show any train service between these two cities. Yet, several third party booking sites show there is train service.

No. This route is a combination Bus and Train operated by RENFE while new tracks that are suppose to supply high speed rail service to Granada is complete. The construction is between Granada and Antequera. The bus part runs from Granada to Antequera where you transfer to the train for Seville.
What exact day are you traveling? The schedule on RENFE is being posted irregularly lately compared to the information of when to expect it. And what 3rd party sites are you using?
Richard,
Jazz+Travel is correct, currently there’s railroad construction/renovation in progress around Granada (since April, 2015), but one can certainly travel to/ from Granada.
The journey would entail traveling via train from Sevilla to Antequera Santa Ana train station where you will be guided to a bus, the bus will take you the rest of the way to Granada’s train station. If traveling from Granada, you’ll do this in reverse, via bus to Antequera then via train to Sevilla.
Another option would be to travel this route via ALSA Bus; this is what we did when we traveled from Córdoba to Granada, then from Granada to Sevilla.
There are more time options for the bus than the train (presently only 4 trains/day)
The ALSA buses are comfortable and air conditioned.
Have a wonderful trip!
Edited to add:
You can check train schedules on Renfe.com
If you feel any anxiety over this route I highly recommend the Alsa Bus. I took it Seville to Granada January 2 2019. It was 3 hours but nice scenery and the bus had Wifi. The road infrastructure is smooth.
We'll be traveling from Granada to Seville on June 10th. The third party sites showing direct train service between these two cities are goeuro, ACP Rail and others.
FYI: I just checked June 10th Granada to Seville using https://www.goeuro.com/
I do not see any result for buses or trains on that route that date.
The goeuo site will say that the date is too far in advance to buy a ticket.
Same thing for ACP Rail. https://www.acprail.com/ nada.
I picked an arbitrary date in early February to see if train service was available through Renfe. Same response, no service.

Richard,
I just checked Renfe.com and chose February 12, and there are 4 trains (8:13, 10:53, 17:03 & 20:25) departing Granada toward Seville (Sevilla- Santa Justa train station)
BTW, don't forget to book your Alhambra Tickets 3 months in advance.
Just to clarify, I marked my calendar three months in advance of my Alhambra visit. When I got on their website 3 months in advance, there was already limited tickets. I needed tickets for November 9. I found out that at least for that month they posted the entire month of November on August 1.
jules m, now that you mention it, yes, Alhambra does tend to load the entire month on the 1st date of whatever is 3 months prior. All November August 1, etc. At least, I have read it happening multiple times. Best to check that date and be too early than too late.
As to train service, I would just suggest the bus. When I went Nov 2017, train service was imminent. The bus is comfortable and you don't need the change hassle. They don't seem to mention, but my trip had a 30 minute pit stop part way through. A nice break for a coffee and sweet roll. You also get lovely views of extensive and completed train lines......
I highly recommend the ALSA bus, too! We took it from Cordoba to Granada, and then from Granada to Malaga. It's air conditioned, comfortable, and clean. On one of the routes they gave us a small bag with bottled water and some cookies!
Does anyone know expected date of completion? Our trip to area will be in October.
Date of completion? It was listed as April 2017.
You can still by a ticket from Renfe, leave from the train station in Granada and end in the train station in Sevilla. But, it runs on a bus from Granada to Antequerra, then transfer to a train for the rest of the route.
the train station in Sevilla might be a little more conveniently located, but the bus station has the tram right outside and an easy ride to the central core. Alsa is considerably cheaper and was a comfortable ride (driving by all the new and unused train lines). I wasn't aware beforehand, but my bus stopped half way for a coffee and comfort stop which added 30 minutes to the trip, but Spain runs on its own schedule at times.
Take the bus. It is comfortable, inexpensive and goes throughout the day. We did that and were pleased.

The Granada-Antequera high speed link may finally open this Summer, with a direct service from Granada to Madrid and then ones to Sevilla, Malaga, etc. a bit later. Since you're not travelling until October, I'd check again in a few months to see the state of play.
I might well be wrong, but I think only some Alsa coach services stop at Sevilla Prado depot, which has the tram into the centre. Most use pl. de Armas which isn't on the tram.
Nick, imagine my surprise when I ended up in Prado station from Granada with no clue how to get to where I wanted to be. I had done all my planning from plaza del armas, and there was no indication on the bus sign which terminal it was terminating in. My error in not double checking the ticket or at the station before boarding. It was my first incountry transport, so naive. However, a quick ask in the Information area of Prado station gained me a map, instructions and a buenos dias and I was well on my way.
I would take the ALSA Bus and there's even Supreme class if you want a fancier bus and more comfortable ride.
While trains could be running again by summer, in Spain it's always better to bet against it until the trains actually start running.
My wife and I want to return from Granada to Seville with our bikes at the end of our trip in mid October. DOes anyone know if regional train service directly from Granada will be operational by then? Right now, connecting bus out of Granada will not allow bikes. Also, The option to go directly from Granada to Seville by Alsa bus does not work since bikes have to be disassembled. Does anyone have other options? thanks
"Does anyone know if regional train service directly from Granada will be operational by then? "
jksidwell,
It may very well be (fingers crossed). Try checking after 3rd June when the new Granada services are due to be announced (or from 10th June when the new national timetable should be up) . But don't check for October - that is too far away - try a dummy booking for late June to get an idea.
However I'm not sure when Granada-Sevilla service will be running, but you should at least be able to get to Cordoba and change train. Hopefully, though G-S will also be running direct by Autumn.
We are traveling 6/29 from Granda to Seville. I do not see any trains listed so it is safe to assume they are not running? Is our only option for traveling that day bus or renting a car? If so, is one better than the other? Traveling with kids. Thank you.
How much is the Alsa bus from Granada to Seville? And how long is the trip?
Most of the trips are scheduled to take about 3 hours, but the reality will be affected by traffic. There should be a comfort stop along the way.
You can explore fares and schedules on alsa.com. Click on Espanol at the top right and choose English.
I see fares as low as 11 euros for at least one bus later this week, but that may be for an odd departure time. Many tickets are about 23 euros, but they can go higher, and some buses sell out. It's like trains (though not as extreme): You'll probably save money by buying early--though if a bus is seriously undersold you might get a good deal later on.
