Train or Taxi from Barcelona international airport to Gerona hotel

I have been looking into the train tickets from Barcelona to Gerona for two. However, in order to take the train, we would need to take a taxi ride from airport to get to train station first; after the train arrives to Gerona, we need to take taxi again to our hotel. I am wondering how much it would cost to take taxi from Barcelona airport to Gerona (Hotel Nord 1901) directly? If it does not cost too much more than the taxi-train-taxi rides, we may choose to take taxi from airport to hotel directly. Has anyone have taken taxi from Barcelona to Gerona and how much it would cost?

You could take the Rodales R2 train from the Barcelona Prat airport (terminal 2) to Barcelona Sants station. Then take a Renfe train from Barcelona to Girona.

I deleted my previous response. We did what dkoo describes. Easy and lovely train ride. We did walk from the train station to city center. It is a safe, albeit boring, approximately 1 mile walk from Girona's train station to city center.

Hotel Nord 1901 is lovely. We stayed there in 2023.

We arrived in Girona by train and then just walked to our hotel.

GIRONA -not Gerona :)- is 100km from Barcelona, and a taxi ride directly from the Barcelona airport to Girona can be pricey (180-200€).

There are direct busses from BCN to Girona. We took one, I think it took about 2 hours, I seem to remember paying the driver, not 100%on that. Brad
