Train or flight from Barcelona to Frankfurt?

Our cruise terminates in Barcelona. We would then like to get to Frankfurt after a quick stop in Barcelona. Recommendations? (cost and convenience are factors)

Flying would take a bit over two hours. Vueling or Lufthansa would do it for under one fifty.

The train would take about twelve hours with a cross-town station change in Paris and cost at least twice as much.

Hidden in the flying option is the time and slight cost to get to and from airports and the need to be at the airport at least an hour before departure.

I would also check and see if Vueling goes there as well. Flew them when in Spain last month and they were top notch.

Note that some airlines use Frankfurt Hahn airport (code HHN), which is quite far from both the city of Frankfurt and the "real" Frankfurt airport (code FRA). Similarly, some airlines use Girona airport (GRO) instead of Barcelona airport (BCN). When comparing options, be sure you pick the airports you want, and allow for extra time and/or money if you're using airports farther away from your origin and destination.
