Hi all, appreciate all the responses re train travel in Spain when I thought I'd arrive via Seville. Am now booked into Madrid (instead of Seville) with a final destination of Cordoba. Plan to take the fast train. Noticing all the options on the RS train assistance page. Just a double check: If I book a train via RS train page before departing U.S. and my flight is delayed, as I understand it, I can still get on the next possible train, may need to pay additional on board cost (if necessary) with a semi-flexible ticket. Am I understanding that correctly? Leave in mid-May. I'm giving myself a 3 hour window re a pre-reserved reservation should there be a delay. Thanks!

I don't know about the trains booked through RS, but you book an IRYO train in the INFINITA BISTRO CLASS you can change the departure time to another train with no fee.
I arrived at Atocha from the airport much easier than I had planned. (Taxi from airport to Atocha took less than 30 minutes on a Sunday morning). I went to the IRYO office inside Atocha and they issued me a new tickets for an earlier train to Cordoba.
IRYO trains are new and very spiffy....with that ticket class you get a meal with wine.
