Train from Sevilla to Cordoba?

Hi - my cousins and I are going to be on the RS Andalucia tour the last two weeks of October. We're going to fly (probably on TAP) from Chicago into Sevilla and take the train to Cordoba, presumably the same day.

Can anyone tell me what train station is closest to the Sevilla airport?
Also, how far in advance should I get the train tickets (on Renfre.com, I assume)?

Thank you!

RENFE doesn't usually sell tickets more than a few weeks out. On Sevilla - Cordoba there are enough trains that you can just rock up at the station and get a ticket for the next train. But if you want to play safe get a ticket for an AVANT service with a departure that gives you a sufficient margin. If you make it to the station earlier than expected you can just change your ticket for an earlier train.

Hello,

Sevilla has two train stations, the Santa Justa station and the smaller, San Bernardo station. Trains for Cordoba depart from the Santa Justa station hourly. If you are planning on taking the train to Cordoba the same day you fly into Sevilla, I wouldn't recommend buying the train tickets ahead, as there is no way of knowing if your flight will be on time or how long it will take you to get to the station. Since these are all reserved trains, if you miss the train you pre-purchased tickets for, you will need to either buy another ticket or exchange it (depending on the type of ticket it is).

Instead, I recommend waiting until you arrive at the train station and buying a ticket on the next train to Cordoba.

Happy Travels!

You should use Santa Justa. The airport bus (EA) takes about 25 minutes depending on traffic and stops at the station.
I wouldn't buy in advance given the possibility of delays. Just note that Sevilla to Cordoba trains come in two "flavours". The faster ones (Renfe Avant or Iryo for example) take about 40 minutes, the slower ones (Renfe MD about 60 to 90 minutes). They all arrive at the same station in Cordoba.
