We need to get from Segovia to Seville this Friday. Do we need to go from Segovia to Madrid and
then Madrid to Seville on two separate trains? Need the high speed train to Seville; but unsure if we can catch it at Charmartin? Matt
Yes, you can take the train to Madrid (Atocha Station) then take the AVE from Madrid ( Atocha Station) to Seville (Santa Justa Station)

Did you take the high speed train from Madrid to Segovia?
Thank you for your help. I think we puck based the correct tickets to go from Madrid on Thursday to Segovia. We are taking the train at Charmartin at 11:30 that gets into Segovia AV at 11:57. What is confusing us is that it looks like we need to get the train back from Segovia that will us to a different train station in order to catch the AVE High Speed to Seville. Correct? Matt
Yes, instead of returning to Madrid Chamartin station you must travel to Madrid P. Atocha station to connect toward Seville.
Thank you, it looks like the train from Segovia to Madrid - Atocha Train Station only has local trains ( 2hours), Best I can determine from the schedule. Would it make more sense to take the fast train from Segovia to Charmartin (28 minutes), and then taxi to the Madrid Atocha Train Station in order to catch the AVE high speed to Seville, or just stick with the 2 hour train that goes direct to Madrid Atocha? I would take the fast train back to Madrid (Chamartin station) then you go Atocha Station to take the AVE to Seville.
According to http://www.rome2rio.com, you have several options to get from Chamartin Station to Atocha Station:
- You can take the Metro (Blue Line 1) : Check here for complete details: http://www.metromadrid.es/en/index.html
Make sure you type 'Atocha Renfe' for destination when using above Metro website.
- travel by train
- or take a taxi-- (more expensive but perhaps more convenient especially if traveling with luggage)
Hope this helps!
