Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows if the train from Malaga to Barcelona is one train or if we have switch trains in Madrid?
Did you consult the official source http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/index.html?
Two direct trains a day.
@ 08:40 & 14:35.
Journey time of 5hr 45min would see me considering flight alternatives.
Nearly 6 hours on the train, but tickets purchased 2 months in advance are only €35 each. Flying may save you an hour or two, but will probably cost more (add getting to/from the airport). The train is comfortable, you can relax, have a picnic meal, catch up on your blog, your reading or your sleep.
I was going to take Renfe until I discovered restrictions they had. So I opted for the bus Alsa.es they have an English setting. Renfe frustrated me with the difficulty in purchasing a ticket. Alsa was simple and they have wifi...if you don't mind busing it.
A bus from Malaga to Barcelona? That would be a loooong ride.
The trick to getting tickets on the RENFE website is to use Paypal to pay. Trying to use a US credit card is frustrating and often impossible no matter what kind of card it is or how many steps you take. The Paypal option is quick and easy.
