Train from Madrid to Seville April 15

Looking for advice regarding purchasing train tickets for 4 from Madrid to Seville on April 15. I have tried multiple sites including Loco2. I am worried because when I use 4 passengers, there is no availability. When I try 2 passengers, I get multiple options (including the one I want -- 8:50 departure with 2 hr 44 min travel time).

I have had not difficulty booking Seville to Barcelona on April 17.

Are we out of luck getting a train from Madrid to Seville? What other options should I investigate. My wife recommended calling a travel agent, but I don't think that will help this situation.

Any advice would be welcomed!

Thanks!

I am also waiting to buy April tickets. I don’t think they are available yet, even March tickets are not loaded on the website. Just keep checking. :)

Thank you Shirley! Glad to know that I am not the only one. It is so odd! I tried the Rail Europe website and they have lots of AVE options for that day. I tried to go through the booking through them and at the end, it states "You may need to confirm with the carrier directly. Please submit as is and our customer service representative will contact you." Sounds fishy to me, so I didn't purchase them that way.

Loco2 was extremely easy for the Seville - Barcelona tickets.

My wife had this fear that we were stuck. What caught me off guard was Seville - Barcelona is loaded, but Madrid - Seville is not.

Hopeful!

You will likely pay quite a bit extra if you buy tickets from RailEurope. There is no need to use that company, which often limits the options it presents and charges substantial service fees.

Rail Europe would be better to assist you in English at home than a travel agent, who will normally also use Rail Europe's web site as their source. One thing that Rail Europe can't do in the online shopping cart is to mix and match different fares within your group of four. So if a particular fare only has two seats left, that might cause the message you're seeing. If they say they'll contact you, then they will.

For this travel date, www.Renfe.com indicates the 8:30 train as full and the next departures are at 9:00 or 10:00, not 8:50. Since your travel is during Easter week, more trains will fill up. I'd choose a different departure soon from among those currently for sale. Booking with Renfe directly works if you can pay with PayPal, or go back to Loco2 if it also sells a departure time you can accept.

I just received a booking notice from Loco2 (you can request them send you an email when availability of booking opens). I was easily able to get the trains I wanted. It just was that the train bookings from Madrid to Seville was not yet available! Easter week should be fully open now for booking!

Thanks everyone!
