Train from Madrid to Segovia

Holla,

We are staying at Hotel Europa in Puerta de Sol Madrid. Would someone please let me know the easiest and fastest way to get to Segovia. Which train would I choose, which stations, etc.

Thank you!

There are Avant, Alvia, and Intercity trains to Segovia (Guiomar station) leaving from the Chamartín station. From Hotel Europa walk 100 yards to the Sol metro station. Get onto a Line 1 (light blue line) and take it to Chamartín. The ride to Segovia is about 30 minutes.

You could also take Line 2 (red line), then switch to Line 1 at Cuatro Caminos to continue on to Chamartín. The Chamartín station isn’t very large, so it would be difficult to get lost or turned around.

There are also regional trains (Cercanias) that leave from Atocha station. They appear to be the least expensive but there are fewer of them and it takes longer to get to Segovia; almost 2 hours.

To get to Atocha from Hotel Europa you can walk (about 20 minutes) or take metro Line 1. Atocha is a much larger station. Once at Atocha you’d look for signs for Cercanias trains.
