Train from Madrid To Magala

Hello,

I want to take a high speed train from Madrid to Magala. Do I need to buy tickets in advance? I'm flying in around 9 AM on a Friday and want to get on the train and head to Malaga right away. If not what website is recommended to purchase the train tickets? Thank you in advance :)

Alex,
It’s generally not recommended to book your tickets for day of arrival due to possible unforeseen delays, with your flight, passport control, or baggage claims.

Having said this, it’s understandable to want to take advantage of discounted train tickets, so if you do book, make sure you give yourself a large time cushion and hope for the best.

You can book your train tickets on Renfe.com

If you’re planning to visit the Alhambra in Granada, make sure you book your Alhambra Tickets 3 months in advance.

Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks for the reply. Do the trains ever get sold out? Meaning do I have to worry about not getting a train ticket because they are full. The trains in NYC for example NEVER get "sold out". THey just pack them in!

thanks

These trains require seat assignments so yes, they can sell out. But I would not expect the whole day to sell out and your early arrival means a number of departure times could work for you. If it's around the Easter holidays or another popular event, that makes a difference. [edit] If you're traveling at the end of May, as mentioned on another post, then the only holiday I see is Ascension on Thursday, May 30. Others will have to chime in if they know how that affects traffic.
